Made for Saharanpur

Sanjay is a great asset  for Saharanpur and its people. He in genuinely in love for this place.  He never seems to  forget his constituency and the problems of Saharanpur. Whether he is in Saharanpur or is attending Vidhan Sabha Sessions,  he is always thinking about this place and is trying to do whatever he can for its people.  He forcefully raised the issues and problems relating to Saharanpur like construction of overbridge over railway line, bridges over Dhamola and Paondhoi rivers,  provision of better public amenities at Shakumbari Devi Shrine, regularisation of Collectorate employees, poor bus services, construction of bypass in Saharanpur,  etc., and got things done whenever he could.  The development of Saharanpur is his topmost priority.  While State Minister PWD he sanctioned 4-lane highways / Hot-mix plant roads for major roads in Saharanpur.

Here is a list of some of the developmental work undertaken in Saharanpur - thanks to the initiative taken by your representative Sanjay Garg.

 Electricity Department - New Transformers

You would agree perhaps that an MLA or even a State Minister - Tax and Registration cannot produce electricity for you but he can atleast arrange for better infra-structure facilities whenever there is power supply available to the city.  Sanjay Garg - by arranging new transformers / upgrading old transformers has done exactly that for the city as is evident from the list below:

Under the APDRP scheme,  changing of electricity poles, transmission lines, capacity enhancement of transformers, provision of new transformers will be done wherever needed. For 33000 KV transmission line, conductor has been changed from 220 KV Sub Station, Paper Mill Road to Sub Station at Jain Bagh. After this, local breakdowns in areas Khumran Pul, Khata Kheri, Chilkana Stand, Halwai Hatta, Rani Bazar and Dal Mandi Pul and other parts of the old city have been minimised.

 Road Transport System

All of us are aware that the investments made in improving highways and city roads pays for itself in the long run.  Fully appreciating the fact that better roads save  work hours,  costly fuel,  wear and tear of vehicles and work related tensions,  Sanjay Garg exercised his powers to get new and much better roads for the city as we all know.

Sharda Nagar Railway level crossing No. 86 B at Ambala Road is a pain in the neck for

busy level crossing.
On behalf of  people of Saharanpur, Sanjay Garg expresses
his gratitude towards Shri Satish Chandra, Executive Director of Railway Board.
Shri Satish Chandra belongs to Saharanpur and he could very well understand

Saharanpur Mahotsava

The people ofSaharanpur have got a new festival in the shape of SAHARANPUR MAHOTSAVA, again thanks to SANJAY GARG.  It was Sanjay's dream that like Lucknow, Agra, Jhansi, Khajuraho and various other important towns of our country,  Saharanpur has valid reasons to be proud of its great history, culture, arts and crafts and should celebrate its existance by organising a mega event that would draw attention of the national and international media towards it.  Was it a marvelous and great idea to have a Mahotsava for Saharanpur?  What did Saharanpur achieve out of it?  How is it going to benefit Saharanpur, its people,  its business and industry,  its arts and crafts?  What do you think about it?  What are your specific suggestions to improve  the show in the coming years?  We would be glad to hear from you.  Click here to see some photographs of Mahotsava and  read a report.  You can download report in Hindi by clicking here.

Vidhayak Nidhi

Although the Scheme of earmarking funds at the discretion of Vidhayak of a constituency has been named as VIDHAYAK NIDHI,  the funds naturally belong to the public and are to be utilised for speedy sanction and efficient execution of various small infra-structure development projects submitted to the Vidhayak by various sections of the society.

Sanjay Garg might have sort of  a record of converting large number of narrow, dusty uneven khadanja roads into smooth, good looking and long life  RCC roads by making optimal and judicious use of his VIDHAYAK NIDHI -- thus giving  a new face to Saharanpur.

Much more needs to be done

By the way, it does not mean that all the roads of Saharanpur have become excellent RCC roads.  Far from it,  there are many roads in the city which are badly in need of repair.  Some are perhaps unrepairable now and must be  reconstructed as soon as possible.  But not every road can be built from Vidhayak Nidhi or by the PWD.  Some of the roads are the responsibility of the local self administration. In order to assist them financially,  Sanjay Garg has been instrumental in arranging funds for Saharanpur Nagar Palika from State Government.  To name a few...

bullet

Rs. 10,81,64,000 have been paid by State Finance Commission

bullet

Rs.      61,74,000 have been paid by 11th Finance Commission

bullet

Rs.      25,75,000 have been paid from Revolving fund, and

bullet

Rs.   2,00,00,000 have been sanctioned for construction of roads in the world famous woodcraft market and locality.
